The Orb: "It's about who you know as much as, what you do know."

The Orb are playing Prague on January 23. We chatted with Alex Paterson about music, books and planets. He told us some pretty interesting things.

Where are you living now, and how do you like your environment?

Battersea, South London . I was born nearby, grew up here & feel at home here ; )

What was working with Lee Perry like, and will that maybe continue?

Lee was a very special person with real magic flowing through his veins. A prophet & visionary of epic proportions.
The Orb are releasing another album of lost tracks & various remixes in May on cooking vinyl .

Is Screen still going on?

There has been interest in Italy recently & there's no plans to do another album just now .

What are you reading at the moment?

Who Built the Moon by Christopher Knight & Alan Butler .

Your favourite piece of technology?

MS2000 & Kaos Pad.

Any advice for young musicians/artists?

It's tough out there & you have to be certain, it's about who you know as much as, what you do know.

How do you feel about Little Fluffy Clouds being still a huge thing
for many of us?

Touched, honoured to be part of such a great piece of music. Timeless & emotionally charged .

What do live show of the band look like now?

Two people, visuals & a lot of funny noises to boot !

What's in store for 2013?

New LP album & 25th anniversary of The Orb this year & at the end of the year we will be playing the 1st album from the top until the end.

Anything else you'd like to add?

Doing a short film about the beginning of our planet.
