Fashion and style Q+A: Holger from Ragwear

Today we have answers from the boss of the clothing label Ragwear, Holger.

Your definition of fashion and style?

Fashion and style is a kind of protest. It’s telling the world that you’re not drowning in the depressing side of life. It’s about inspiring the world with colour, and showing that you’re in a colourful frame of mind.

Practically, it’s about adding something to your outfit. When I see someone who’s picked the right scarf, belt, bag, bracelet, bandana, hat, or socks, something that completes the look, then I think that’s style. And it has nothing to do with brands or logos.

What do you like about your work?

The fact that  I have a creative outlet for my thoughts. And I get to create something that didn’t exist on this planet before. It makes me feel very free. I also appreciate not having anyone tell me what to do. When I want to play football with my son, I go and play football with my son.

How do you recharge your batteries?

I should say “snowboarding” or something like that right? But the truth is, Qi-gong every day, and meditation. I love silence. I like walking in the park, strolling the waterfront, reading an interesting book. All that gives me energy. That doesn’t sound like a ragwear guy, does it? Let’s say “snowboarding.”

What always makes you feel good?

Smiling.

Your tip for what to do against the grey.

Throw all your clothes away and start again.
