Robert Carrithers pojímá svůj projekt The Muse Room jako vytváření prostoru k šíření inspirace. Spolupracuje na něm se skupinou českých a zahraničních umělců, které transformuje do role moderních múz, z nichž pro každou vytváří vlastní mytický příběh (týkající se období od počátku minulého století po současnost) a následně ji zachycuje v sérii maleb, sítotisků, látkových soch či formou hudby a videa. 
Součástí projektu je také triptych The Muse trilogy vytvořený  kombinovanou technikou malby a sítotisku, na němž Robert spolupracoval s kostarickým umělcem Luisem Cerdasem, který doplní výstavu svými interpretacemi daného tématu. Dvě malby vyjadřující představu múzy z mužského a ženského úhlu pohledu vznikly ve spolupráci s výtvarnicí Janou Šárovou. 
Projekt je doplněn videoprojekcemi od Dariny Alster a Jany Orlové.
 
 
Umělci představující jednotlivé múzy: Darina Alster, Luis Cerdas, Nikita Eaton-Lusignan, Marie Anna Krušinová, Eva Larvoire, Irena Mášová, Iveta Megami, Linda Mikolaskova, Jana Orlová, Jana Podlipná  Jana Rerichova Jana Šárová a Veronika Slámová. Projekt bude doprovázen performancemi Dariny Alster a Jany Orlové. O atmosférický hudební doprovod k projektu se postarala Múza hudby – Ida Taušlová. 
Týden bude zakončen živou malbou Luise Cerdase, kterého bude doprovázet berlínský hudebník Liam Slevin.

Kurátorem projektu je Robert Carrithers.
 
 
Robert Carrithers  je známý hlavně jako fotograf a filmař. Ve svém díle se zaměřuje především na  zachycení atmosféry undergroundové umělecké a klubové scény, a to již od počátku 80. let, kdy byl součástí New Yorského kulturního dění. V té době spolupracoval s umělci a performery  mezi něž patřili např. Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Ann Magnuson nebo Klaus Nomi. Jako fotograf na volné noze dokumentoval kulturní události pro různé magazíny v New Yorku, Londýně a Paříži. Jeho práce byly vystaveny v galeriích v New Yorku, Los Angeles, Chicagu, Londýně, Paříži a Berlíně.
V současnosti žije a pracuje v Praze.
 
Kdekoli se nachází, vždy nalézá umělecké komunity zabydlené výjimečnými osobnostmi, které na okraji společnosti zápasí o přežití a možnost kreativního vyjádření. Ve svém díle zobrazuje tyto postavy, které nazývá živoucími anděly, kteří se nabízí ve jménu kreativity.
 
 
Robert Carrithers creates The Muse Room, a room of inspiration for Art Prague. He is working with a group of Czech and international artists. He transforms them into muses and then captures them through a series of paintings, silkscreens, fabric sculptures, video and music. For each muse we have created a modern myth, from the beginning of the last century up to now. In addition, Robert works with the Czech artist Jana Sarova expressing the female and male points of view of muse through two paintings and with Costa Rican artist Luis Cerdas on The Muse trilogy, a combination of painting and silkscreen. 
 

Luis will also exhibit several of his interpretations of the meaning of muse. Darina Alster and Jana Orlova will both exhibit a special video for this exhibit. The following artists will be captured as The Muses: Darina Alster, Luis Cerdas, Nikita Eaton-Lusignan, Marie Anna Krusinova, Eva Larvoire, Irena Masova, Iveta Megami, Linda Mikolaskova, Jana Orlova, Jana Podlipna, Jana Rerichova, Jana Sarova and Veronika Slamova. There will also be performance artist series staged throughout the Art Prague week which will include performances by Darina Alster, Jana Orlova a Veronika Slamova and to finish the week there will be a live painting performance by Luis Cerdas accompanied with a live music band. Muse of music, Ida Tauslova will do a music soundtrack for the proper atmosphere for the Muse room. We hope and wish to inspire you! Curated by Robert Carrithers
 
Robert Carrithers is mostly known for his photography and film work, but for this special exhibition/project he goes back to his roots of painting. He has been deeply involved in underground music, art and club scenes going all the way back to New York in the early 1980s when he worked with artists such as Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat and performers such as Ann Magnuson, John Sex, Wendy Wild and Klaus Nomi. He was a freelance photographer covering cultural events for various magazines and newspapers in New York, London and Paris. He has had gallery exhibits in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, London, Paris, Berlin and worked on a project in Tokyo. He worked with portraits of the people he has found interesting in the various scenes he explored at that time. He is presently living and working in Prague.
 
Wherever he goes, he always finds a creative community peopled with unique individuals living on the edge of society and striving to survive and express themselves creatively. His artwork and photographs reveal the personality and creativity of the artists he meets who he calls the living angels who offer themselves in the name of creativity.

ROZMLUVA SE STÍNY/TALKING WITH THE SHADOW 
Videozáznam performance promítaný na látkové sochy.
Vlastní stín je člověku přítelem, nepřítelem i zdrojem inspirace. K vidění bude v průběhu celého veletrhu od 23. do 28. března. 
PHYSICAL CALLIGRAPHY 
Živá performance proběhne v úterý 24. března od 17:00. Darina společně se svou dcerou předvedou malbu tělem na bílou tkaninu pokrývající stěny výstavní místnosti. Tyto barvou zachycené stíny zůstanou na zdech vystaveny po celý týden a doplní tak výše zmíněnou videoprojekci.

Žena v burce bude cvičit podle videa Cindy Crawford. Inspirací se stala současná celosvětová situace. Pokouším se věci vidět v jiných souvislostech. Symboly vnímané určitým způsobem jako stigma stavím do jiné, někdy opačné, situace. Filosofie co následuji: Pokud budoucnost závisí na naší představě o ní, musíme být extrémně optimističtí, abychom zachránili svět.

TALKING WITH THE SHADOW
This is a performance video, which is projected onto fabric sculptures of muses. These shadows can be enemy, friend or a source of inspiration for you. Presented in The Muse Room from opening night March 23rd to the 28th.
PHYSICAL CALLIGRAPHY a live performance by Darina Alster in The Muse Room on Tuesday March 24th at 17:00
 Physical Calligraphy is a procedural situation performance with Darina Alster and her daughter. 
Mother and daughter will paint with their bodies onto white fabric on the walls of The Muse Room. These live shadow drawings will remain on the wall throughout the week to compliment the shadow projections.

A lady in a burka doing an exercise video by Cindy Crawford. The Inspiration comes from today’s situation all around the world. The symbols that I work with are put in a different situation that is opposite from what we normally see. The philosophy I follow is: We have to be extremely optimistic to save the world if the future depends on our imagination.
